Exploitation of Willpower

2 min read

What We Think Willpower is For

  • Being disciplined.
  • Waking up early.
  • Running or exercising.
  • Studying and working hard.
  • Maintaining a strong work ethic.
  • Being compassionate and kind to others, whether family or the public.

If you use your willpower for any of these pursuits, you have unknowingly trapped yourself.

The True Purpose of Willpower

There’s only one rightful use of Willpower—to know who you truly are.

  • To realize that you are not the body.
  • To understand that you are not your mind or thoughts.
  • To recognize that you are what remains when all false is stripped away.
  • This is the essence of knowing yourself.

Once you grasp this truth, willpower is no longer needed for external struggles. The constant battle of forcing discipline, effort, and self-control dissolves. Instead, you gain true freedom—the ability to use your body and mind as tools rather than being enslaved by them.

Btw, this Truth aligns with the teachings of Advaita Vedanta, Sikhi, Buddha, Jesus, given one truly understands.
